Knowledge Development

Before the fun in the ocean starts it is important to learn some more diving theory of the new types of dives you are going to do. By making use of the Adventures in Diving Manual and DVD, or the E-Learning option, you can study the theory of these new skills in your own time. In total you will work through the 5 different chapters of the chosen specialty dives, and afterwards your instructor will go over the knowledge reviews with you.

Adventure Dives

A total of 5 different adventure dives need to be completed of which Underwater Navigation and Deep Dive are compulsory for finalising the course. During your deep dive you learn to dive to a max. of 30 meters where you get introduced to more intents colour and pressure changes and your navigation dive will provide you with more knowledge and skills in how to use a compass and searching patterns. With assistance of your instructor the 3 additional dives can be chosen from a long list of diving specialties. As this is the Cape, exploring wrecks or the underwater night life¬†should definitely be considered, but other adventures in search and recovery, improving your buoyancy control or learning to identify the Cape’s fish species are very recommended.
